Poverty in the UK is soaring in the wrong direction. Driven by the cost-of-living crisis, over 7m people in the UK are going without the basics such as putting food on the table, heating our homes or being able to wash.
This Christmas, parents are choosing between putting nappies on their baby or presents under the tree. Families are facing tough decisions between warm soapy showers or cooking Christmas dinner, and people are missing out on social events and celebrations because they can’t afford the basics to feel clean.

For the people we support, hygiene basics can be transformative. They can help unlock opportunities, boost self-esteem and take the heat out of pressurised household budgets.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is our opportunity to DOUBLE our efforts to push back on hygiene poverty.
Kicking off on at midday on Giving Tuesday (28.11.23) and running until midday 05.12.23, every donation we receive via The Big Give will be automatically DOUBLED until we reach our final target of £50,000!
It’s our biggest annual fundraiser and an opportunity for our Hygiene Bank community to pull together to drive awareness and double our impact.
