From inner cities to the Outer Hebrides, our diverse and friendly community of volunteers has become a lifeline to those unable to afford or access the fundamental basics to feel clean.
Rooted in the heart of their local communities, our award-winning volunteers deliver hygiene essentials to community partners such as food banks, schools and shelters throughout the UK. For many of these community partners, The Hygiene Bank (THB) is the only source of donated basics such as toothpaste, shampoo, nappies and laundry detergent.
These are simple basics that most of us take for granted, but they have a profound impact on our health, confidence and ability to thrive. By providing these basics and raising awareness of hygiene poverty in their local communities, our volunteers drive positive change, take the pressure off overstretched stretched family budgets and help ensure that no one needs to choose between feeding their families or keeping clean.

As one of the largest national charities tackling hygiene poverty in the UK, THB works with the public and an incredible community of brands to provide these donations, but we simply wouldn’t be able to reach those in need without our local volunteers.
With millions of people struggling to pay the bills this winter, the demand for hygiene products keeps increasing, this means that we urgently need more volunteers to help us collect, pack and deliver hygiene basics to those in need.
